Calling all my spicy food lovers again! This spicy chicken wing recipe is not for the faint of heart. The scorpion peppers used to make these wings are SO spicy but SO delicious! Every time I eat these I know I should stop at some point but I never can. I hope you like them as much as I do.
Scorpion Pepper Chicken Wings
TIPS AND THINGS TO NOTE:
Scorpion Pepper Substitutes:
I know it’s hard to come by scorpion peppers in the local grocery store so feel free to substitute them with ghost peppers, Carolina Reapers, scotch bonnets, habanero, wiri wiri etc. If you enjoy gardening keep your eyes open for a scorpion pepper plant and try your hand at growing some yourself. You can pick, wash, dry and freeze them until your ready to use them.
Ingredients
For marination:
For sauce:
Instructions
-
Season the chicken wings with olive oil, all purpose seasoning, Montreal steak spice, onion powder, and garlic powder.
-
Mix well and marinate for a few hours or over night.
-
Air fry, bake or deep fry until brown and cooked through. The internal temperature of the chicken should read a minimum of 165 degrees F on a quick read thermometer.
-
Place a pan over medium heat and gently cook the garlic in butter for about 30 seconds.
-
Add the pineapple juice and allow it to simmer for 1-2 minutes.
-
Add in the scorpion pepper and cilantro. Give the mixture a very quick stir and turn off the heat. You can simmer up to 1 minute if you want the sauce to be spicier.
-
Pour the mixture all over the cooked chicken wings.
-
Toss and enjoy!
Note
- Ranch dressing: Use any ranch dressing you have or love. When adding the dressing to the hot pan you only want to cook it for about 10 seconds.
