Spicy Sweet Chili Cilantro Chicken Wings in 30 minutes

This is one my favourite wing flavour combinations! Its sweet, spicy, savoury and fresh all at the same time. This quick and easy chicken wing recipe will have you licking your fingers after each bite! Enjoy!

Spicy Sweet Chili Cilantro Chicken Wings

TIPS AND THINGS TO NOTE:

Substitutes for Shaoxing cooking wine:

You can substitute the Shaoxing cooking wine with either dry white wine or a tbsp of rice wine or regular vinegar.

Types of chilies you can use:

I used scotch bonnet in this recipe, however any spicy pepper works! Some substitutes are habanero or red Thai chilies.

Instructions

  1. To your chicken wings add light soy sauce, oyster sauce, Shaoxing cooking wine, sesame seed oil, onion powder, garlic powder, chili flakes, and oil.

     
  2. Mix well and marinate for a few hours or overnight.

  3. Air fry at 380 degrees F for 9 minutes. Flip the wings and air fry for another 9 minutes. If you are baking the wings you may need more cooking time. Cook until brown and cooked through. The internal temperature of the chicken should read a minimum of 165 degrees F on a quick read thermometer.

  4. Create the sauce for the chicken wings by combining sesame seed oil, sweet chili sauce, light soy sauce, chopped cilantro and scotch bonnet pepper in a large bowl.

  5.  Add your wings to the sauce and toss well.

  6. Garnish with black and white sesame seeds and thinly sliced green onion. Enjoy!
